Elder Derrick Smith is a dynamic and energetic leader who brings creativity and inspiration to Hope Tabernacle SDA. Known for his work with youth and young adults, he has a heart for mentorship and equipping the next generation of believers.
He was baptized on June 14, 1997, at Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brooklyn, NY. He is presently married and blessed with a loving family of six children and eight grandchildren.
Elder Smith believes in leading by example and often organizes interactive Bible studies, service projects, and spiritual retreats that strengthen the church’s mission and foster unity. His approachable demeanor makes him a trusted mentor and role model to many.
His favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33 — "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
When he's not serving in ministry, Elder Smith enjoys fishing, gardening, traveling, and playing tennis.
