Elder Hubert E. Thomas is the proud father of two daughters and one son. He comes to us from Panama with a wealth of experience in ministry, finance, and church leadership. He earned his Bachelor's degree from West Indies College in Mandeville, Jamaica, where he served as class president, and later completed his Master’s degree at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
After graduation, Elder Thomas served in numerous roles across the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. He pastored a six-church district in the Panama Conference, which included both bilingual and Spanish-speaking congregations. He also served as pastor, treasurer, and Stewardship Director in the Cayman Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. In Jamaica, he worked in accounts receivable at Andrews Memorial Hospital. Later, he became pastor of two Spanish churches and internal auditor for the North Caribbean Conference in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
His expertise led him to serve as Internal Auditor for the Inter-American Division (Florida), and he currently holds the position of Internal Auditor for the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. At Hope Tabernacle SDA Church in Snellville, GA, Elder Thomas is an Elder, Sabbath School teacher, and Religious Liberty Director. He offers support and structure to the church’s operations and brings a positive, youthful, and cheerful spirit to everything he does.
With a servant’s heart, Elder Thomas ensures the church functions smoothly behind the scenes — helping with logistics, supporting event coordination, and promoting spiritual growth across ministries. His personal motto is: “I am now enchanted with eternal life, just awaiting immortality.”
